Kathy H. Dixon, 75, passed away peacefully on Thursday, August 7, 2025 at her home.

Kathy was born on February 2, 1950 in Mecklenburg County, NC a daughter of the late Charles Ray Harmon and Helen Drennan Harmon. She was a retired teacher from Webb Street School in Gastonia after 28 years and was a member of the National Educators Association. Kathy was a member of Anthony Grove Baptist Church in Crouse where she served as an interpreter for the deaf. She also helped organize and volunteered with Night to Shine at Anthony Grove which is centered on God's love, honoring and valuing people with special needs.

Survivors include her husband of 33 years, William "Bill' Dixon of the home; two sons, Jason Whitaker of Cherryville and Jeff Whitaker and wife Kelly of Holden Beach; two grandchildren, three great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; a sister, Sharon Clark; a brother, Greg Harmon both of Belmont and her mother-in-law, Rachel Dixon of Shelby.

The family will receive friends from 1:30PM to 2:45PM on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at Anthony Grove Baptist Church in Crouse.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00PM on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at Anthony Grove Baptist Church with Dr. Dennis Bean officiating.

The family will meet at 11:00AM on Monday, August 11, 2025 for a graveside service at Cleveland Memorial Park in Shelby.
