Kimberly Denise Brown

Kimberly Denise Brown, 47 of Shelby, NC passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Wendover Hospice in Shelby. A native of Cleveland County, she was born February 20, 1977 to the late David Conrad Brown and the Late Betty Glenn Poston.

She was a graduate of North Shelby High School. To know Kim was to love Kim; as she brightened up the room everywhere she went, she never met a stranger. She was very well known throughout the community. If she knew you well, one of her favorite sayings was "Give me a dollar".

She enjoyed her days at One on One care, hanging out in the community, and traveling. She loved going to church and loved praising the Lord. She loved music, Michael Jackson and the Backstreet Boys. She also loved doing puzzles. She had a passion for people and loved kids. The last seven plus years of Kim's life allowed here to become an extended family member of Catherine Thombs (Mama), the Parks, Pullen, Hopper and Ellis Chapel Church families.

She was preceded in death by her father, David Conrad Brown and her mother Betty Glenn Poston; her paternal grandparents, James and Mabel Brown; maternal grandparents, Bobby Glenn and Onelius "Tap" Glenn; aunts and uncles, Barbara Carol Brown, Bobby Jean Brown, Evelynia G. Scott, Thelma "Dotthing" Littlejohn, Pastor Lizzie J. Poston, Reverend HJ and Pastor Helen Jackson, Mable Davis, Leila Francis, Johnny Ray Huskey, Rob Boykins, Gregory Glenn, Jeffery Surratt, Sanchez Brown and Jasmyne Jackson.

She leaves to cherish memories to her step-father Kenneth Poston, grandmother Lena Mae Glenn, sister Brooke Watkins, Catherine Thombs (Mama), Keyshia (Dauris) Pullens, Shawnta (Zantavius) Hopper, and Ronnie Parks whom she called (Papaw). Other family members include aunts and uncles, Yvonne (Larry) Surratt, James "Steve" Brown, Joe (Brenda) Glenn, Donald (Lillian) Glenn, Robert (Trina) Glenn, Dianne (David) Brown and Linda Huskey; nieces and nephews, Serenity and Kendrick Brantley, Cassie, Carmen and Nasir Pullens, and Zan'Narion Hopper; a host of special friends, her worker Liyah and the One on One Care Family, Pat Willis, Faye McGill, Chris Lee; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A special thanks to One on One Care, Boundless Miracles, Partners, Wendover Hospice and Caramount Health.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 15 at 12 noon at Ellis Chapel Baptist Church, Shelby, NC. The reception of family and friends will begin at 11:30 a.m.
