Lillian "Lit" Virginia Arrowood Morris

Lillian "Lit" Virginia Arrowood Morris, 88, passed away Wednesday, July 16, 2025, at her home, surrounded by loving family. Born in McDowell County on March 2, 1937, she was the daughter of the late James Arrowood and Lona Hefner Walker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant daughter, Teresa Lynn Morris, daughter-in-law Dee Morris, brother, Junior Arrowood and sisters, Leona Ogle, Iva Sprouse, Mary Shook and June Summey.

Lillian deeply loved her family and her church. A devoted, longtime member of Patterson Springs Baptist Church, she faithfully served in the nursery and prayer ministries, blessing her church community through her dedication and care.

Lillian is survived by her husband of 69 years, Blaine McCall Morris; daughters, Debra Hardin and Elaine Davis (Allen); son, Michael Morris; and grandchildren, Garrett Hardin (Cameron), Michaela Hardin, Brooke Duncan (Chad), Alissa Pace (Andrew), Chris Morris, and Michelle Sons (Jeff). She is also survived by six great-grandchildren. Also left to cherish her memory are her brothers, Jack Arrowood (Carolyn), Arnold Arrowood (Wanda), Donald Arrowood (Jane), and Jeff Arrowood (Barbara); and her sisters, Jean Williams, Carol Weaver (Rick), and Marie Mode (Bob).

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 19, from 10:00AM-11:45 AM in the sanctuary of Landmark Baptist Church, followed by a funeral service beginning at 12:00 PM with Rev. Allen Davis officiating. Burial will immediately follow the service at Cleveland Memorial Park.
