Lottie Bell Stowe

Lottie Bell Stowe, 97, a beacon of warmth and wisdom, passed away peacefully at White Oak Manor on August 16, 2024, surrounded by her loved ones.

She was born March 8, 1937 to the late Willie Durham and Rose Faust.
Mrs. Stowe was a dedicated member of St. Paul United Methodist Church where she served on the Usher Board, Women's Society of Christian Services (WSCS), and the kitchen committee. She was employed as an Executive Housekeeper for the Secrest family after her previous employment at Gardner Webb working in the canteen and later retiring from her job as a Spinner at Shelby Mill.
Lottie's life was a tapestry of love, education, and community service. She brought joy and pride to the lives of others with her wit and sass. She was full of life and enjoyed dancing and music in her spare time. She was also a connoisseur of great food.
In addition to her parents, she rejoins her late husband, Herbert, in eternal peace along with her sisters, Eloise King, Frances Dalton, and Carrie Durham; brothers, Willie B. Faust, Albert Durham, Fred Durham, Ira Durham and AW Durham; and bonus child, Roy Lockard.
She is lovingly remembered by her son, James E. Stowe of Shelby, NC; four grandchildren, Victor (Sandra) Jamison of Laurel, MD, LaTina Stowe of Kings Mountain, NC, Sharon Stowe of Charlotte, NC, Christopher Stowe of Traveler's Rest, SC; a special daughter in law, Carolyn Walker of Kings Mountain, NC; a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, relatives, and a loving community of friends and her admirers.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, August 22, 2024 at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Kings Mountain, NC at 2:00 p.m.
