Louia Paul Eeds

Louia Paul Eeds, 87, passed away Sunday, November 5, 2023 at Atrium Health in Shelby, NC.

Born in Huttig, Arkansas, on December 11, 1935, he was the son of the late Ennos Clyde Eeds and Roxie Moore Eeds. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother, William Clyde Eeds, sister Ola Mae Baker and son-in-law, Larry Skinner.

After retiring as an officer from the Louisiana Army National Guard, Paul pursued his passion for flying by becoming involved with the Angels Flight Program. In addition to his love for aviation, he found joy in traveling and gardening. Professionally, Paul excelled as a consulting engineer in the natural gas industry.

Paul is survived by his wife of 67 years, Kathryn "Kitty" Cole Eeds, daughters Debbie (Watt) Smith of Granite Falls, NC and Kathy Skinner of Shelby. Also left to cherish the memory of their "Poppa Paul", are his grandchildren, Paula Enwall of Hickory, NC and Talley (Ginny) Smith of Charlotte, NC as well as, 3 great grandchildren, Sammie, Holden and Conner Smith of Charlotte, NC.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Thursday, November 9, 2023 in the Webb Chapel of First Baptist Church of Shelby with Dr. Tracy Jessup and Dr. Jim Wooten officiating. The family will receive friends in the chapel following the service.
