Mr. Mac Arthur Ussery, 71 of Shelby, NC, passed away on April 24, 2026 at White OaK Manor. He was the son of Annie Mae Ussery and the late Arthur Lee Ussery. He was born on July 12, 1954 in Cleveland County, NC.

In addition to his father, Arthur Lee Ussery, he was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Sam and Hannah Clark; paternal grandparents, Earnest and Elizabeth Ussery; brother, Carl Franklin Ussery; and special friend, Sonny Lawrence.

He leaves to cherish precious memories to his wife of 51 years, Shirley Brewton Ussery of the home; mother, Annie Mae Ussery of Lawndale, NC; children, Mack Jr. and Elbony Brewton Peeler (Lamar), both of Shelby, NC, and Constanza Shondelmeyer (Bill) of Cranberry, PA ; sister, Evangelist Annie Ussery Scott of Spartanburg, SC; grandchildren, Avion Pressley and Zariah Pressley; special uncles, Ray Ussery , Roy Ussery (Sarah), and EJ Ussery; aunts, Lilly Ruth Clark, Julia C. Smith, Lilly Sanford Clark, and Martha Clark; brother in law Steve Brewton; special cousins, Reid Lawrence, George Washington Clark, and Linda Ruth Ussery; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at Pine Grove Primitive Baptist Church, Lawndale, NC, with burial in the church cemetery.
