Madge Eure, age 93, of Fuquay-Varina, NC, passed away Friday, March 8, 2024 at Cleveland Pines Nursing Center in Shelby.
Madge was born Tuesday, November 4, 1930, in Rutherford County to the late Isaac Raleigh Harris and Lona Lowery Harris. She worked as a dedicated postal clerk for twenty-five years at the Cary Post Office before retirement. Madge loved going on trips with her sister and delighted in spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Nell Horton, Brenda Costner and a brother, Bill Harris.
Those left to treasure her memory include her son, Larry Steven McCurry of Shelby and daughter, Lesley Price (Kenneth) of Angier, NC; grandchildren, Mathew (Katy) Biggie of Raleigh, NC and Amanda (John) Katzenburger of Oahu, Hawaii; great-grandchildren, Charlie, Payten, Tristan, Benjamin, Joanna, Sally and a number of nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, March 12th at Rutherford County Memorial Cemetery with Reverend Eddie Grey officiating. The body will lie in state from 8:00 am until 11:00 am on Tuesday at the funeral home.
