Mallory Wayne Morrison, 74, passed away early Tuesday morning, June 25, 2024 at his home surrounded by family.

Born in Cleveland County on April 7, 1950, he was the son of the late Fitchue Morrison and Frances Louise Rhyne Morrison. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his brother, Martin Ronald Morrison.

Wayne will be fondly remembered for his dedicated service to his country in the United States Marine Corps, his enthusiasm for classic cars, and the deep love he had for his family and friends. He will be profoundly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Wayne is survived by his wife of more than 40 years Linda McCracken Morrison, son Fitchue Morrison, wife Angela, 3 grandchildren Michael Morrison, Fiance Jodie, Brittani Morrison and John Morrison, as well as a very special niece who was like a daughter, Britney Lucas, husband Matt and their children Aubrey, Brody, and Jensen Lucas.

Also left to cherish his memory is his sister Karen Pitoniak, husband Thomas, niece Lindsey nephew Grayson, brother Alan Morrison, wife Karen, niece Gracie and nephew Joshua, and niece Ian Rhyne, husband Andy, as well as many other family members and friends.

A celebration of life service will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, June 27, 2024 in the Chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home with Pastor Mason Leonard officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM. Burial with military honors will follow the service at Rose Hill Memorial Park.
