Margaret Carol Hunt Meade, 81, passed away on Monday, December 9, 2024, at Atrium Health - Cleveland in Shelby, NC.

Carol was born on June 12, 1943, in Cleveland County, to the late Dob Kelly and Macie Etta Newton Hunt. Carol attended Cleveland Community College and obtained her CNA certification. She also worked at Fiber Industries, Shadowline, but her main calling was as a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. Additionally, Carol attended Mt. Zion Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Cecil Hunt, JD Hunt and Hugh Hunt and a sister, Mary Lou McNeilly.

She is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, Thomas Gene Meade; son, Kelly Meade and wife, Jennifer of Shelby; granddaughter, Emily Grace Meade and her lifelong best friend, Sheila Morrow of Casar.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 11:00am to 12:45pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 1:00pm Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jamie Bridges officiating.

Burial will follow at New Home Church Cemetery in Casar, NC.
