Martha Dedmon Greene, 80, passed away peacefully at her home Wednesday, August 7, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Martha was born on July 19, 1944 in Shelby, NC, to the late Bryan Crawford Dedmon and Daisy Mae Gray Dedmon. She was also preceded in death by her brothers, Bobby Gene Dedmon and Billy Joe Dedmon.

Martha dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She loved spending time in the kitchen, preparing delicious meals for her family. She was also the "cake baker," making all the elaborate birthday cakes for her children and grandchildren. Nothing gave her greater joy than being present for her family. She was the ultimate Maw Maw, attending every event in her grandchildren's lives.

Martha is survived by the love of her life of 62 years, Lowell Steve Greene. She is also survived by her children, Chris Greene (Denita) and Rhonda Greene Poston (Phillip). She leaves behind her grandchildren, Jordan, Jasa, Kali, Lexi, and Kira. Her great grandchildren, Cutler, Briggs, and Blakely, her sister-in-laws, Debbie Dedmon and Velma Dedmon, as well as her nephew, Rick Dedmon (Melissa). Her great nieces, Brooke and Lainey and her great-great nephew, Sage.

Mrs. Greene will lie in repose from 3:00 - 5:00 PM Friday, August 9, 2024 at Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home for friends and family.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, August 10, 2024 at Sunset Cemetery in Shelby. The family will receive friends immediately following the graveside service.
