Martha Seagle Short, 80, of Lawndale passed away on August 6, 2025 at her home.

Born on October 7, 1944 in Cleveland County she was a daughter of the late John Owen Seagle and Lenola Costner Seagle. Martha was retired from Shadowline as a seamstress. She was a life long member of Carpenters Grove Baptist Church and had taught the Nursery Class for many years. She enjoyed her class reunions for Burns at Fallston Class of 1963.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Robert "Bob" Carrol Short; two brothers, Bill Seagle and Donald Seagle; and a sister, Vonda Bivins.

Martha is survived by her son, Craig Short of Lawndale; daughter, Carolyn Michelle Fuentes of Shelby; three brothers, Kenneth Seagle of Lawndale, Norris Seagle of Casar, and Ralph Seagle of Charlotte; two sisters, Rita Warlick of Lawndale and Phillis Surratt of Earl; four grandchildren, Eric K. Kimbrell, Michael Kimbrell, Kalysta Fuentes, and Alyssa Raines and husband, Daniel; three great grandchildren, Victor Beam, Collin Raines, and Abigail Sanders; and a special niece Ava Seagle.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 9, 2025, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home, Fallston.

A funeral service will be held on Sunday, August 10, 2025 at 2:00 PM at Carpenters Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Joey Hamrick officiating.

Burial will follow at church cemetery.
