Mary Ellen Jennings Green, 71 of Golden Valley Road, Casar, passed away on Wednesday, January 24, 2024 at Hospice at Wendover, Shelby.

Born in Cleveland County, NC on March 31, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Hilton Jennings and Ellen Garren Jennings.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Green and two sisters, Vickie Jennings and Gail Mellon.

Survivors include her daughter, Corey Short and husband, Chris of Casar; two grandchildren, Hayden Short and Cassie Medford and Katelyn Short; sister, Dianne Shull of Cherryville; niece, Nicole Welch and husband, Jesse and two nephews, Zeb Mellon and wife, Melanie and Josh Mellon and wife, Pam.

The family will receive friends on Friday, February 2, 2024 from 1:30pm to 2:15pm at New Prospect Baptist Church.

A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, February 2, 2024 at 2:30pm at New Prospect Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Devine and Rev. Bobby Holtsclaw officiating.

The burial will be private.
