Mary Joyce Williams Goins, 87 of E. Zion Church Road, Shelby, passed away on Monday, July 31, 2023 at Peachtree Centre in Gaffney.

Born in Cleveland County, NC on April 3, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Johnny Thelbert Williams and Ethel Sain Williams. She was retired from Drexel Furniture. Mrs. Goins was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lawndale where she was a member of the choir.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Joe Tillman Pearson and John Roy Goins; three brothers, Dean Williams, Sam Williams and Johnny Williams and a sister, Ruby Nell Head.

She is survived by her two sons, Rick Pearson of Shelby and Richard Pearson and wife, Gloria of Hickory; daughter, Debra Smith and husband, Lee of Gaffney; sister, Vernie Sue Benson of Florida; six grandchildren, Misty Pittman and husband, Mark, Chad Pearson and wife, Abbey, Nathan Pearson and wife, Cristen, Julia Norman and husband, Brandon, Lee Travis Smith and Dustin Smith and wife, Courtney; fourteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

The family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, August 2, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Rebekah Ralph officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Palm Tree Church Cemetery.
