Mary Lillian Campbell, 98, formerly of Charlotte, NC, passed away on November 10, 2021 at Summit Place in Kings Mountain, NC.

She was born in Rutherford County, NC, daughter of the late Johnny and Mabel McCurry Melton and was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Ray Campbell. She was also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Amy Morgan, two brothers, Jack and Gerald Melton, and two sisters, Lois Knapp and Frances Bradley. Lillian was a faithful Christian woman who loved the Lord. She was a long time member of Calvary Baptist Church in Charlotte. She enjoyed staying busy, working in her yard, growing beautiful flowers, reading, and cooking wonderful meals. Lillian could light up a room with her warmth and laughter. She loved making people happy. Lillian adored her family and many friends, and they loved her with all their hearts. Her kindness and love will be greatly missed by everyone who ever met Lillian. The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff of Cleveland County Hospice and Summit Place for the exceptional care and love they have shown Lillian.

Great Grandchildren: Dylan, Dustin, and Maren Baucom

Sisters: Doris Hamrick and husband Kenneth, and Helen Godfrey
