Mary Louise Littlejohn

On Monday, December 1st, 2025, Mary Louise Littlejohn, 95, peacefully entered the Kingdom of Heaven embraced by God's eternal love. Though our hearts are heavy with grief, we rejoice now that she now rests in the presence of the Lord. Born on March 16th, 1930, in Ironton, Ohio, Mary was the cherished daughter of the late Josiah "Joe" Lewis and Mary "Mamie" Clark Lewis. As one of fourteen children, she grew up surrounded by the warmth, closeness, and lively spirit of a large family. Even among many, she stood out for her kindness, quiet strength, and her gentle, loving heart.

Mary's faith was the foundation of her life. Her love for the Lord radiated through her actions, her words, and the compassion she showed to everyone she met. She drew daily strength and joy from reading her Bible and had an extraordinary gift for recalling scripture. Mary could answer any question about the word of God - and if she didn't know the answer, she joyfully searched until she found it, sharing her wisdom with humility and grace.

A devoted member of Midview Baptist Church, Mary faithfully served by singing in the choir and teaching Sunday School for many years. In her early career, she worked in nursing homes, offering comfort and kindness to the residents entrusted to her care.

Mary was the beloved wife of the late Nelson "Lee" Littlejohn, with whom she shared 52 years of love, partnership and devotion. Together. they built a beautiful family with the birth of their daughter, and through the raising of their son. Mary had an unmatched gift for making a house feel like home. Her kitchen was the heart of her household, always filled with the comforting aroma of home-cooked meals. There was nothing she couldn't make - every dish seasoned with love, care, and tradition.

Her adventurous spirit led her on countless road trips, where she delighted in exploring new places and creating memories with family and friends. She especially cherished her travels to Ohio, Kentucky, Florida and Kansas City, each journey adding joy and richness to her life.

Mary's love, warmth and unwavering faith leave a legacy that will forever live on in the hearts of those she touched. In Heaven, she is reunited with her parents; her beloved husband; her twelve brothers and sisters; her son-in-law, Bobby Browning; her granddaughter, Kimberly Rene May; and her great-granddaughter, Megan Cox.

Those who remain to honor her memory include her daughter, Katherine "Katie" Browning, and her son, Carl "Fred" Littlejohn (Lee). She is also survived by her sister, Alfreda Kyle, and her sister-in-law, Sharon Lewis. Her grandchildren - Nelson "Clint" Cox (Danielle), Michael Cox, and Labreeska Moore (Matthew) - hold her memory close to their hearts. Her great-grandchildren include Heather McFadden, Mary May, Diamond Crotty (Ryan), Skylar May (Yer Vang), Sierra Cox (Nicholas Jones), Hunter Cox, Gracie Wright (Tyler), and Logan McDaniel.
