Mary Ruth Goforth, 81, formerly of Charlotte, NC, passed away on November 30, 2021 at Stanley Total Living in Stanley, NC.

She was born in Cleveland County, NC, and was preceded in death by her father, Claude Edwards and her mother, Evelyn Allen Hill. Mary was also preceded in death by her second husband, Charles Goforth Jr, and her siblings, Mike Edwards and Pat Edwards. She was a former member of Northside Baptist Church in Charlotte. Mary worked in the nursery business for many years and loved being outdoors, working in the yard, and growing beautiful flowers. She enjoyed staying active, cross stitching, quilting, working sudoku, and reading. Mary enjoyed listening to Christian music and spending time with her loved ones. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother and great grandmother whose love and guidance will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.

Former Husband: Harry Lee Barrett

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Friday, December 3, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel

VISITATION: Friday, December 3, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 2:50 PM prior to the service in the parlor of Harris Funeral Home
