Mr. Matt Henderson Gold, 30, of Shelby, passed away Friday, March 31, 2017 at his residence.
He is survived by his parents, John and Laura Gold of Shelby, NC and Gail Bradshaw of Lake Greenwood, SC, his sister, Lauren Ashley Gold of Shelby, NC, and a half-sister, Mariah Maxwell, grandparents, Jackie Gold of Shelby, NC, William Gold and wife Maria of Iron Station, NC, Dr. and Mrs. Larry Allen of Kings Mountain, NC, and Phyllis Bradshaw of Lake Greenwood, SC, a great grandmother, Mamie Lou Allen of Shelby, NC, a special uncle, Brian Gold of Shelby, NC, and numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins.
Born April 28, 1986 in Cleveland County, Matt was preceded in death by his grandfather, Charles Bradshaw, great grandparents, Sam Gold and wife Patsy, Jenkins Morrison and wife Viola, Fred Neal and wife Geneva, and Floyd Allen.
Mr. Gold enjoyed hunting, fishing, and working outdoors. Matt earned the rank of Eagle Scout in Troop 118. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
A visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm Tuesday, April 4, 2017 at Cleveland Funeral Services. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, April 5, 2017 at Double Springs Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Bill Fryar. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
