Melburn "Eckels" Hollifield, 81, died Tuesday, June 11, 2024 at his home.
A Native of Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Everett and Sarah Green Hollifield. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who spent many years working in the automotive repair industry. He was an avid Atlanta Braves fan, he enjoyed yard work and cutting grass. He loved riding 4wheelers and trail riding with his friends and family. He is survived by his loving wife, Sybil Ruppe Hollifield of the home sons, Dwane Hollifield and wife Mandy and Keith Hollifield; sister, Brenda Hamilton and husband Bob; brother, Derrell Hollifield; grandchildren, Josh Hollifield, Kasey Hollifield and Elizabeth Anderson; great grandchildren, Levi Hollifield and Lily Anderson. A memorial service will be held 2PM, Friday June 14, 2024 at Clay-Barnette Funeral Home Chapel. The family will receive one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
