Michael Scott Darnell, 56, a loving father, husband, son, brother, nephew, brother-in-law, uncle, and friend passed away on Monday, November 04, 2024 at his home in Shelby, NC.

Michael was born on February 14, 1968 in Cleveland County and was a son to Helen Kinsey Darnell of Shelby and the late Arthur Howard Darnell. Michael was employed with maintenance at Sika of Gastonia and was a member of Ross Grove Baptist Church.

Michael is survived by his wife Tammy Whitaker Darnell; two daughters Mikaela Darnell and Emily Drew Menjivar and husband Christian all of Asheville; and a sister, Sheila Spangler and husband Russell of Shelby.

A celebration of life service will be held on Thursday evening at 6:00 pm at Ross Grove Baptist Church with the Rev. Marcus McGill officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the sanctuary.

Burial will be held Friday morning at 10:00 AM in the Rose Hill Memorial Park.
