Mildred Hester Causby Kanipe, 75 of E. Sanders Road, Shelby, passed away on Wednesday, September 20, 2023 at her residence.

Born in Cleveland County, NC on May 1, 1948, she was the daughter of the late David Thomas Causby and Alice Lorene Henson Causby. Mildred was a member of Metanoia Baptist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Walter Causby, Earl Causby, Eddie Causby, J.C. Causby and Dean Causby and two sisters, Betty White and Linda Fowler.

Survivors include her husband of 11 years, Roger Dale Kanipe; three sons, Randy Jones and wife, Doris of Ellenboro, Darrell Jones and wife, Tammy of Connelly Springs and Darren Jones and wife, Christi of Maiden; brother, Tommy Causby of Shelby; sister, Martha Jones of Fallston; 12 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.

The family will receive friends on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 23, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Metanoia Baptist Church (formerly New Testament Missionary Baptist), 2100 Capernaum Road Shelby, NC 28150 with the Rev. Darren Jones, Rev. Chris Phillips and Rev. Terry Huffman officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the Wallace Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
