Orlando "Lando" Antwan Whisnant

Orlando "Lando" Antwan Whisnant, 38, departed this life on Sunday, November 26, 2023 at Wendover Hospice House of Shelby, NC.

He was born on January 11, 1985 in Cleveland County, NC to Bonita Whisnant and the late Joe Camp, Sr.

He was a 2003 graduate of Burns High School. He was employed with CVG for over 10 years. Orlando was a member of Changers Church.

Orlando was a tremendously out-going person -- serving the community by being actively involved as a coach for the Elizabeth Panthers little league team for football and basketball. He was a compassionate, loving, and devoted father to his children; supporting them in extracurricular activities and motivating them in their academic excellence.

In addition to his father, Joe Camp, Sr, he was preceded in death by his brother, Monterio Wilson, and three uncles; Robert Camp, Dale Whisnant, and Anthony Whisnant.

Left to cherish his memories are his mother, Bonita Whisnant and stepfather, James Archie; two daughters, Keyona and Lay'ona Whisnant; son, Taveon Whisnant; two brothers, Joe Camp Jr., and August Archie; three sisters, Shanika Whisnant, Jasmine Camp, and Sharee Camp; a special grandmother, Dorthy Watkins; two nieces, Jazmine Camp, and Aniya Smith; two nephews; Maurice Parsons Jr. and Dontavious Whisnant; six aunts, Loretta Austin, Diane Camp, Tammy Robinson, Lisa Watkins, Angela Petty, Paula Key; uncle, Michael Camp (Lisa); a number of best friends, Calvin Brooks Sr., Michael Padgett, Tyrone Padgett, and Montreal Williams; a special friend, Kenyuetta Whitworth; bonus nephews, Calvin Brooks Jr. and C.J. Ross, and a host of cousins and friends.

Funeral services will be held on Sunday, December 3, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Changers Church. The family will receive friends from 1:30 PM until 2:00 PM on Sunday and at other times at 1809 Petty Road in Kingstown.
