Oscar James Gidney, 65, passed away on, Tuesday, October 08, 2024 at Novant - Presbyterian in Charlotte.

He was born on December 11, 1958 in Cleveland County to the late Brite Virginia Gidney. He was retired from the VA Medical Center in Milwaukee and served in the United States Army.

In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by his brother John E. Gidney.

Oscar is survived by his son Steven Antonio Gidney of Lawndale; four sisters, Patricia Ann Vinson of Lawndale, Ida Parker of Buffalo, NY, Betty Gidney of Ellenboro, and Rebecca Barnes and husband Waldon of Iron Station and numerous nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be at 11:00 AM, Thursday in the Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Albert Hillman officiating.

Burial will follow at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Fallston, NC.
