Patsy Ann London Ratchford, 84, passed away June 12, 2023 peacefully at her home in Shelby, NC.

Born in Cleveland County on April 28, 1939, she was the daughter of the late James Franklin London and Elease Downs London. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Jamie Lewis Ratchford, two sons Michael Ratchford and Keith Ratchford, brothers, Bobby Gene London, Steven London, James Billie London, James Franklin London Jr.

Pat enjoyed watching Gunsmoke and Walker Texas Ranger, when she wasn't sitting on her front porch. She was affectionately known for her favorite and hilarious saying "Bommmp" and also lovingly known as Grandma Patsy to all of the neighborhood kids! She was also an avid fan of the Charlotte Hornets.

Pat retired from Marion School after 30 plus years in the Cleveland County School System and will be remembered for her loving voice and warm smile.

Pat is survived by her three children; Patricia London, Dianne Ussery and Janice Ratchford as well as, her siblings Betty Jean Wade, Carolyn Mitchell, Linda London, Paul London (Cynthia), Rev. Tommy London (Sharon) and Pastor Claude London (Monica). Also left to cherish her memory are her grandchildren, Tajuana Cannon, Kawan London, Mario Harrison, Juran Ratchford, Keenen Ratchford, Donald London (Britney) and, six great grandchildren, a special friend to Pat, Pauline Wright, and a host of loving nieces, nephews, friends and family.

Homegoing service will be held at 3:00 PM, Tuesday, June 20, 2023 in the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home & Crematory. Burial will follow in Sunset Cemetery. Quiet Hour will be held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Mrs. Ratchford will lie in repose from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM, prior to the service at the funeral home.
