Paul Lawrence "Larry" Rupe Jr. passed away peacefully on Sunday, November 10, 2024, in Shelby, NC, surrounded by his loving family.

Born on July 1, 1948, in Norristown, PA, Larry was the beloved son of the late Paul Lawrence Rupe Sr. and Ruth Rupe.

Larry is survived by his devoted wife, Lois Schlosser Rupe, with whom he shared over 58 years of marriage filled with love and countless memories. He leaves behind his cherished children: sons Phillip and wife Thora, Chris and wife Cory, Jason, and daughters Holly and Amanda. Larry was a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren and celebrated the joy of a new generation with his first great- grandchild. He is also survived by his brother, Steven Rupe, who shared a lifetime of treasured memories.

Larry was a devoted family man who found his greatest joy in spending time with his loved ones. He was happiest when surrounded by his children and grandchildren, especially during the summer vacations spent at Rehoboth Beach and on family trips to Disney World. He created magical memories on Disney cruises that his family will forever cherish.

After retiring, Larry and Lois enjoyed exploring new places together, often taking bus trips with friends from the senior center to various destinations. He loved meeting new people, sharing laughter, and embracing the simple joys of life. Larry's kindness, humor, and warmth made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him, and his legacy of love and family will live on through his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.

He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing him.

A service to celebrate Larry's life will be held at a later date.
