Pauline H. Givens, age 77, of Forest City, passed away Friday, October 6, 2023 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.
Pauline was born Friday, October 25, 1946 in Rutherford County to the late Paul William Herring and Dorothy Herring Harvey. She was a graduate of East Rutherford High School, class of 1964. Pauline worked at Stonecutter Mill for several years and was the owner of Given's Cleaning Services for twenty-five years. She was a member of Harmon Street Baptist Church and was a van driver, volunteer worker and Sunday school teacher at the Church of the Exceptional. She enjoyed flower gardening, sewing and working on crafts.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Deborah Lynn Givens; stepfather, Bill Harvey; sisters, Alice Faye Herring and Pat Kanipe; brothers, Sonny Herring, Lee Herring and Franky Herring.
Those left to treasure fond memories include her son, Johnny G. Givens (Mary K.) of Heaters, West Virginia; daughter, Ginger A. Hollifield (Dennis L.) of Chesnee, SC; sister Lillian Holt of Forest City: nephew, Tony Herring and grandchildren, Cole Hollifield, Kylie Givens and Isabella Givens.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2:00 pm, on Tuesday, October 10th at Cool Springs Cemetery with Reverend Mike McConnell officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested to Church of the Exceptional, PO Box 46, Caroleen, NC 28019.
