Rachel Evelean Taylor Heavner

Rachel Evelean Taylor Heavner, 97 of Lackey Road, Vale, passed away on Tuesday, December 19, 2023 at Atrium Health - Lincoln.

Born in Lincoln County, on August 21, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Charlie Cleatus Taylor and Lorene Taylor Houser. Mrs. Heavner was retired from Gibbs and Wrangler. She was a member of Cedar Grove Lutheran Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loy Tillman Heavner; son, Barry Heavner; grandson, Brandon Heavner; brother, Bobby Taylor and sister, Sue Taylor Cline.

Survivors include her son, Joe Heavner and wife, Debbie of Vale; two daughters, Pam Mills and husband, Pete of Kings Mountain and Debbie Beam and husband, Garry of Denver; former daughter-in-law, Natalie Arends and husband, John of Newton; sister, Kathy Loving of Vale; eight grandchildren, Lisa Lail, Lesley Childers, Chance Beam, Garrett Beam, Brent Heavner, Candra Swafford, Rob Heavner and Michelle Michalec; five great-grandchildren, Gabe, Caleb, Millie, Caleb and Jade and four great-great grandchildren, Sophie, Everly, Aspen and Poppy.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 23, 2023 from 12:45pm to 1:45pm at Cedar Grove Lutheran Church.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, December 23, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Cedar Grove Lutheran Church with the Rev. Tommy Lineberger, Rev. Dale Pederson and Rev. Robert Sain officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
