Mr. Rastus Eugene “Rat” Lattimore, 68, of 913 Vick Wilson Rd. Lot 1 Shelby, NC went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Wendover Hospice in Shelby. He was born on June 21, 1944 in Rutherford County, NC to Eugene Lattimore and Dixie Hooks Lattimore.
Rastus was employed at Mayo Auto Auction in Chesnee, SC for 25 years. He loved working on cars and trucks and working in general. Even on his day off, Rastus would find some work to around the house. As long as he was working, he was happy.
He was preceded in death by his father, Eugene Lattimore; two brothers, Calvin Lattimore and Thomas Lattimore and a sister, Mary Ola Lattimore;
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 46 years, Joyce Thompson Lattimore; his mother, Dixie Lattimore of Morganton, NC; his four children, Trini Lattimore (Betty) of Boiling Springs, NC, Tarnegie Lattimore of Shelby, Darryl Thompson (Janie) of Cherryville, NC and Roslyn Smith of Forest City, NC; one brother, Alonzo Lattimore (friend, Joyce) of Rutherfordton, NC; a sister, Alder Conley (Melvin) of Morganton; his beloved grandchildren, Keyona Lattimore, Ridge Lattimore, Mikayla Allen, Ryan Black, Rhaheim Ledbetter, Kelly Thompson and Leslie Thompson; five great-grandchildren; two special friends, Edward McNeil of Cowpens, SC and Paul Boykins of Forest City, NC; two brothers-in-law, Vallie Thompson, Jr. and David Thompson (Kathy); three sisters-in-law, Irene Brown, Mary Thompson and Pecora Malachi and a host of other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, November 16, 2012 at 2:00 PM at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel with Rev. Gene Pryor officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:30 until 2:00 PM at the chapel on Friday. |
