Reginald Jajuan Reid

Mr. Reginald Jajuan Reid, 26, of Shelby, NC passed away on Friday, January 29, 2021 at CaroMont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC. Also known as "Bougie" made his grand appearance on the world's stage on February 16, 1994 in Cleveland County, NC as the only son of Reginald Warren Reid and Shannon Reid Gordon.

Performance

Jajuan was a very well-mannered and respectful young man who never met a stranger and showed kindness to everyone. He loved music and developed this love for music when he started playing drums at church when he was six years old. He had a whimsical sense of humor and a smile that would brighten up a room. His presence made you feel comfortable and the impact that he left you with gave you confidence that it was okay to think outside the box and pursue your dreams. Jajuan was a high school graduate of Burns High School's class of 2012 and was a member of the Burns Bulldogs football team throughout high school. He attended Mars Hill College for one year and then returned home and began to work with individuals with disabilities. He later worked for Walmart Distribution and RSI Home Products. His greatest joy and accomplishment was when he became a father. He would proudly say, "Ima be a daddy". The birth of his son, Dajuan, changed his perception on life which motivated him to strive for a better life for his family in which he demonstrated through his music. He has written numerous songs such as Greatness, Universe and What I Thought, just to name a few.

Those loved ones who have gone before him are his father, Reginald Warren Reid; two sisters, Chassidi Blair and Jaquaila Reid; paternal grandparents, Luther and Lillie Spikes; maternal grandfather, Rev. James W. Borders; paternal great-grandparents, Henry and Irene Reid; maternal great-grandparents, Roy and Causie Smith and Dave and Gladys Borders. Those who he has left behind to cherish his memory forever are, his mother, Shannon Reid Gordon (Nelson) of Grover, NC; his son, Reginald Michael Dajuan Reid; grandmother, Fairy Borders of Shelby, NC; his fiancé, Tiffany Tate of Shelby; a niece Jakeyah Hunter of Charlotte, NC; two aunts, Vickie Love (Terry) of Kings Mountain, NC and Sylvia Burris (Gene) of Shelby; uncles, Ernest Ross, Warren Dawkins (Mae), Jeffrey

Shade (Amy), Thomas Shade, Gregory Dawkins, Walter Ray, Jr. and Reggie Osborne all of Shelby; one great aunt, Edna Laney of Shelby; special cousins, Allisha Winslow (Marcus), Alena Alexander (Estevan), Jhalien Cooper, Magale Burris and Chad Smith; special friends, Trayvand Ross, Melvin Scott, Franklin Eskridge, Devonte Ramseur, London Richardson, Vincent Hardy, Jr., Jeremy Nance, Marcus Green and Roger Hunter as well as a host of other relatives and friends.

Exit

Mr. Reginald Jajuan Reid exited the stage on January 29, 2021. Reginald Jajuan "Bougie" Reid AKA Reid JuanHunnit was loved by many and will be missed by all.

The final debut for Mr. Reid will be private. The service will be livestreamed starting at 1:45 PM on Friday, February 5, 2021. He can be viewed from 9:00 AM until 11:00 AM on Friday at S.T. Enloe Memorial Chapel with a reception of friends from 1:00 PM until 2:00 PM at Faith Harvest Church. Burial will take place at Sunset Cemetery.
