Richard "Dick" Edward Gilbert, 76, of Crouse, passed away on Friday, February 16, 2024 at his home.

Born in Lincoln County, on September 15, 1947, he was a son of the late Eddie Lee Gilbert and Bunola Reep Gilbert. He was a retired dairy farmer.

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his first wife, Nora Gilbert; son, Trent Gilbert, stepson, Walter "Thumper" Minton; and two sisters, Ruby Bess and Katie Russell.

He is survived by his wife Mary Ann Gilbert; daughter, Candice Gilbert of Vale; stepchildren, Kristina Woods of Morganton and Wesley "Scott" Dial of Hickory; a brother, Tony Gilbert of Vale; a sister, Nancy Gantt of Lincolnton; granddaughter, Chelsea Willis; step-grandchildren, Trinity Minton, Kisha Spence, Tisha Annis, and Jocelyn Smith; a special step-great-grandson, Cooper Doppe and five step-great-grandchildren.

The Celebration of Life Service will be held on Monday, February 26, 2024 at 4:00 pm at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
