Gaffney -- Richard Sydney Ellis, 68, of 114 Brown Street, passed away on Tuesday, April 21st, 2026, at his home.

Born in Cowpens, he was the widower of Cynthia Jolley Ellis and the son of Irod Conner Ellis and the late Richard Frederick Ellis. He previously worked in construction and was of Baptist faith.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by a brother, Bruce Ellis, and numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, father, a brother, Barry Lee Ellis, and a sister, Jeanette Adele Ellis.

The family will receive friends on Monday, April 27th, 2026, from 1:00-2:00pm in the Frederick Memorial Gardens Chapel. A graveside service will follow in Frederick Memorial Gardens.
