Richard Timothy Roper, 56, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on July 13, 2023 at Caromont Regional Medical Center in Gastonia, NC.

He was born in Cleveland County, NC, son of Brenda Fay Hammond Roper and the late Richard Alexander Roper and was preceded in death by a brother, David Roper. Tim was a steadfast and strong man. He was an avid collector of coins and cards and loved spending time on the water fishing.

Tim had opinions on how our country is run and aspired to run for the office of President of the United States. He was a wonderful family man and cared deeply for his large family. Tim has left a lasting legacy that will be remember for a lifetime by everyone who knew and loved him.

Brother: Adam Roper (Ann)

Grandchildren: Nate, Elijah, Serenity, Cedella, Kenneth and Ashlynn Roper, Brantley and Maci Oxendine, MJ and Aiden Short, Alexis Welch (Zach), Layla Smith, Jacob and Chloe Fletcher, and MaLesha, Martina, and Miles Boyd, Morgan Lanier, and tempe Ray.

Great Grandchildren: Brookelee Faye Welch, Jackson Lanier, and Nolan Blanton

FUNERAL SERVICE: Tuesday, July 18, 2023 at 11:00 AM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Pastors Gil Bailey and Melvin Proctor officiating

VISITATION: Tuesday, July 18, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
