Robert "Bob" Henson, age 83, of Gaffney, SC, passed away Wednesday, June 21, 2023 at his residence.
Bob was born Thursday, July 20, 1939 in Rutherford County to the late Samuel James Henson and Fannie Belle Greene Henson. He worked in the maintenance department for Gaffney Manufacturing and Timken Industries for twenty-five years before retirement. He was a member of Holly Springs Baptist Church. Bob was a motorcycle enthusiast and loved riding his Honda Gold Wing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Henson; four brothers, Bill, Dick, Jerry and John Henson; three sisters, Jean Robbins, Jo Henson and Nell Hardin.
Left to cherish fond memories include his wife of almost sixty-five years, Evelyn Cole Henson; sons, Kenny Henson (Sheila) of Cowpens and Keith Henson (Patty) of Gaffney; grandchildren, Tara Hill (Curtis), Ashley Howell (Caleb), Derek Henson, Brittany Henson, Christine Brown (Jayson), Olivia Crawford (Brandon); great-grandchildren, Bethany, Zak, Tori, Logan, Jaiden, Pam, Maverick, Evee, Ledger and several nieces and nephews which includes a special nephew, Doyle Henson (Eileen).
The funeral service will be conducted at 3:00 pm on Saturday, June 24th at Holly Springs Baptist Church with Reverend Scott Moneyham and Reverend James Henson officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
