Robert "Bob" Sherrill Curtis passed away Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Atrium Health Cleveland surrounded by his loving family. Born in Cleveland County on February 16, 1945, he was the son of the late Dewey Junior Curtis and Donnis Davis Curtis. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Claudia Curtis Newton and brother-in-law, William Sonny Newton.

Bob is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Melissa Smith Curtis, his sons, Shannon Curtis of Denver, NC and Matt Curtis and wife Meredith of Waxhaw, NC, grandchildren Sadie and Bear of Waxhaw, sisters Anne Frazier and husband Johnny of Henrietta and Sherry Goforth and husband Warren of Shelby, mother-in-law Rachel Smith of Shelby as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Bob was a hard-working man, retiring after 30 years as a line driver with Carolina Freight and ABF Freight Systems. He loved his family and cherished time spent with them. He loved his country and proudly served in the US Navy from 1963 until 1969. Bob loved his Lord and Savior and was a faithful and dedicated member of his church.

A Celebration of Life service will be held Friday, March 29, 2024 at 1:00pm at Drury Dobbins Baptist Church Tabernacle with Pastor Ronald Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the Tabernacle. A private burial will be held for the immediate family.
