Robert David Dayberry, 72, of Casar, passed away at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical Center in Charlotte on Wednesday, January 15, 2025.

Robert was born on December 27, 1952 in Belwood to Eva Pauline Beam Dayberry and Robert Coleman Dayberry.
Robert graduated from Burns High School and attended Appalachian State University and Catawba Valley Community College. Robert worked as a commercial roofer in Charlotte prior to spending 15 years at Olympic School Plan and Textile Printing, Inc. The remainder of his career was 10+ years at Polygram Universal in Grover.
Special thanks to his cousin, Martha Stroup Fraser and husband, Joe, for being his kidney donor and allowing Robert to enjoy 25+ additional years.

Robert married Janice Rome Dayberry on July 12, 1980 with the Rev. Fred Hill officiating. They were happily married for over 44 years.

Robert enjoyed fishing and playing golf. More recently, he loved to watch racing, basketball, and football with his family.

Robert was a member of Polkville Baptist Church but still had meaningful ties to Knob Creek Methodist Church.

Robert is survived by his wife, Janice Rome Dayberry, three daughters: Thameka Ruppe and Lee, Kimberly Lawson and Wesley, and Carol Woodard and Matthew, and six grandchildren: Dustin Ruppe, Hunter Ruppe, Cole Lawson, Cooper Lawson, Sydney Woodard, and Caspian Davis. Robert also is survived by his sister, Jane Dayberry Dixon and Dale, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Knob Creek Methodist Church on Sunday, January 19, 2025 from 2:00PM to 3:00PM.
Funeral services will be following visitation with Rev. Chris Glawson and Rev. Richard Stroup officiating. He will be laid to rest at Knob Creek Methodist Cemetery in Belwood.
