Robert James Weatherford, 75, passed away on his 55th wedding anniversary, August 6th, 2022.

Born in Cleveland County on June 20, 1947, he was the son of the late James Wilbur Weatherford and Frances Lorene Melton Weatherford. In addition to his parents, Robert is preceded in death by his sister, Barbara Weatherford Roberts.

Robert worked over 30 years with Kendall Drug Company in Shelby and over 10 years with J M Smith Corporation in Spartanburg. Robert was an avid tennis player for upwards of 20 years and shared his love for the sport with his family.

Robert is survived by his loving wife, Sallie Hawkins Weatherford, two sons, Robert "Brian" Weatherford wife Sherry of Boiling Springs, NC and David James Weatherford and his wife Wendy of Surf Side Beach, SC. He is also survived by his 3 grandchildren, Robbie Weatherford II, Dawson Weatherford, Adriana Weatherford and her fiancé Dustin Ellis.

A memorial service will be held 1:00PM Tuesday August 9, 2022 at the chapel of Cecil M. Burton Funeral Home. The family will receive friends an hour prior to the service from 12:00PM - 1:00PM. Private burial will be held at Cleveland Memorial Park.
