Robert Lee Jefferies

Robert Lee Jefferies, 86, of Grover, NC, went home to be with the Lord on August 27, 2024, at his residence.

He was born October 17, 1937 in Cherokee County, SC, to the late Willie and Ida Logan Jefferies.
Hebegan working in the cotton fields at nine years old after attending Washington Elementary School. He married the love of his life, Annie Ruth Hartgrove in 1960.
Mr. Jefferies assumed ownership of Mr. BC Queen's painting company and started Jefferies and Sons' in 1997; and the name was eventually changed to Covenant Painting Solution LLC.

Mr. Jefferies was a wise and Godly man. He was a faithful member and Deaconof Ellis Chapel Baptist Church, while also having served in many other capacities at the church. He vowed to keep and uphold God's commandments through the good and the bad times because his faith in God was unwavering. His unique persona displayed a reputation of integrity, loyalty, and credibility. He showed everyone love and life encouragement, knowing that we are all God's children.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Annie Ruth Jefferies; sons Ricky Jefferies and Billy Joe Spikes; and a granddaughter Christina Wilson; sisters, Annie Jefferies and Lucille Harris; and brothers, Willie Ray Jefferies and James Edwards Jefferies.

Those left to cherish his wonderful memories are sons, Bobby Spikes (Jacqueline), Rev. Robert James Jefferies (Jeanie); Nathaniel Jefferies (Cathy) and John Jefferies; daughter, Debra Jean Wilson (Alvin) and daughter in law, Teresa Jefferies, special daughter, Annie Carol Smith (Robert); sisters, Rev. Ova Lee Abraham and Alma Jean Pratt; several grand and great grandchildren; and many special nieces, nephews, and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral services were held on Sunday, September 8, 2024, at Ellis Chapel Baptist Church with burial in the church cemetery.
