Mr. Robert Louis Robinson, Sr., age 85 departed this life on Friday, December 27, 2024 at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby, NC.

He was born on June 1, 1939 in Lincolnton, NC to the late Elam Robinson, Jr. and the late Mamie Forney Robinson.

After graduating from high school in Lincolnton, Robert served four years in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam era. Afterwards, he relocated to New York and met and married his wife, Dorothy. After starting their family in NY, they relocated back to NC in 1974 and settled in Shelby. Always a hardworking individual and provider, he retired from Grover Industries.

Robert was a family man at heart who enjoyed laughing and having a good time. He was easy going and easy to please. As a man, he was never afraid to express affection by telling people that he loved them. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching westerns, playing checking and listening to old school R & B.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy Robinson; son, Robert Robinson, Jr., Jonathan Maurice Robinson and Henry Antonio Robinson; a grandson, Shawn Chambers; siblings????????

He leaves to cherish his memory to his children .; her children, Cynthia Ruff (Randy), Rosanna Dorsey, Rodney Robinson (Tabitha) and Anita Robinson-Toms (Olan) all of Shelby and Johnny Ingram (Daphne) of Lincolnton, NC; a sister, Olivia Caldwell of Statesville, NC; special nephew, Michael Robinson of Salisbury, NC; 27 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren;12 great-great grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
