Robert Mathis Short, 47, of Casar, passed away on Friday, August 19, 2022.

Born in Cleveland County, on May 27, 1975, he was a son of Richard Jenkins Short and Amanda Correll Short of Casar. He was employed with Ison Furniture and was a member of Calvary's Cross Baptist Church.

In addition to his parents he is survived by his wife Betsy Hord Short of Shelby, a son, Michael King of Kings Mountain; three stepdaughters, Kaitlyn James, Amanda James, and Melissa James of Shelby; a brother, Tyson Short and wife Tanya of George Hildebrand; a sister, Trina Beighley of Monroe; two grandchildren, Brooklyn Coates and Brianna Clark, a nephew, Justin Tirado of Cherryville; a niece Chloe Tirado of Shelby; a aunt, Glenda Drum of Newton and first cousin, Bill Drum of Newton.

The family will receive friends on Monday, August 22, 2022 from 6:00 PM to 7:30 PM at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 23, 2022 at 2 PM at Calvary's Cross Baptist Church with the Rev. Billy Boone officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.
