Robin Gay Fichter, 74, died Saturday, May 27, 2017 at her home. She was born October 18, 1942 to the late John Elmore Extrom and Mary Margaret Taylor Extrom. Robin enjoyed traveling and engaging herself in charity work, was very active in the Girl Scouts, PEO program, as well as being a master Bridge player. She lived 15 years in Hong Kong, China where she worked as a realtor and event coordinator. Robin was active in Shelby Presbyterian Church. In addition to her parents Robin is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years Barry Sayers Fichter as well as a sister, Mary Margaret "Peggy" Kolb.

Robin is survived by her three daughters; Nancy Fichter Ashford and husband Robert of Shelby, Julia Fichter Persing and husband David of Shelby and Susan Fichter Simmons and husband Michael of Hickory. One brother, John Extrom as well as six grandchildren; Treven Persing, Barry Persing, Camille Persing, Kyle Persing, Hans Ashford, and Mikaela Simmons.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 2p.m. at Shelby Presbyterian Church with Dr. Luke Harkey officiating. The family will receive friends following the service in the fellowship hall.
