Rodney Eric Smith, 56, died Thursday, October 12, 2023 at Prisma Health in Greenville, SC.

Born in Richmond, VA, he was the son of the late John and Mattie Toney Smith. Rodney worked as a Supply Chain Director at Prisma Health in Greenville. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle with friends. His hobbies included camping, kayaking and spending time in the mountains. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Steve Smith. He is survived by his loving wife of four years, Sandy Smith of the home; sons, Jordan Smith and wife Kaitlyn of Waynesville and Chris Johnson and wife Alicia of Mooresboro; sisters, Diane Dedmond and husband Roger and Shirley Peay and husband Coley, both of Shelby; granddaughters, Montana and Landon Johnson; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family. Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. Monday, October 16, 2023 at The Way of The Cross Freewill Baptist Church with Pastor Justin Grigg officiating. The family will receive friends 12:30-2:00 P.M. prior to the service, in the church. Burial will follow in Cleveland Memorial Park.
