Mrs. Rozell “Rose” Allison, 81, of Shelby, passed away at her home  on Thursday, November 1, 2012.  A native of Cleveland County, she was the daughter of the late Ottis O.L. Ivie & Maude Grier Ivie.

Mrs. Allison was a self-employed beautician and a member of Zoar  Baptist Church.  She was noted being the “historian” of the family, knowing birth dates, death dates, and who married who, of not only  the family but also the community.  She loved watching birds and  enjoyed puzzle books.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by  a grandson, Jamie Ivie; deceased brothers, Luther Ivie, Joe Ivie,

Charlie Ivie & Rabon Ivie, and a sister, Judy Alexander. 

Survivors include her devoted and loving husband of 61 years, Hershel Allison of the home; two daughters, Micki Hamrick &

husband, Boyd and Pam Switzer & husband, Herb, all of Shelby; a son, Douglas Ivie of Tallahassee, Fla; grandchildren,

Phillip Hamrick & Nathan Hamrick, and great grandchildren, Johnathon Hamrick & Allison Hamrick.  She is also survived by

a number of special nieces & nephews.  

Per Mrs. Allison’s wishes, no formal service or visitation will be held.  Burial will be held at a later date.
