Ruby Doris Morrison Pruett, age 82 of Shelby, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, December 1, 2021.

She is survived by her son, David Mosteller (Cathy) of Shelby, NC, grandchildren, Stacy Mosteller, Danielle Mosteller, and Christina Bowen, 7 great grandchildren, brothers, Ken Morrison (Linda) of Winston-Salem, NC, Blaine Morrison of Shelby, NC, Faine Morrison (Shelby) of Shelby, NC, and Calvin Morrison (Patty) of Polkville, NC, two sister-in-laws, Patricia Morrison of Shelby, NC, and Toshi Morrison of Polkville, NC, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Born December 26, 1938 in Cleveland County, Ruby was the daughter of the late Grady Lee Morrison and Ollie Marie Hamrick Morrison and was preceded in death by a son, Danny Mosteller, a sister, Mary McCombs, and a brother, Paul Morrison.

Ruby worked and retired as a RN from Cleveland Memorial Hospital and Union County Hospital. She was a member of Davison Memorial Baptist Church where she was a Sunday school teacher. Ruby was a loving mother, grandmother, sister, and friend to everyone that knew her. She enjoyed crafting, crocheting, gardening, and spending time with her family and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 2:00pm Tuesday, December 7, 2021 at Cleveland Funeral Services Chapel conducted by Rev. Faine Morrison. A visitation will be held from 1:00 - 2:00 pm Tuesday prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Cleveland Memorial Park.
