Ruth Virgie Brittain Sain, 85 of David's Chapel Church Road, Vale, passed away on Saturday, October 14, 2023 at her residence.

Born in Lincoln County, NC on October 25, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Hillard Irley Brittain and Marine Lola Wehunt Brittain. Mrs. Sain was retired from Lincoln County Schools and was a member of David's Chapel Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Steve Brittain and Buck Brittain.

Survivors include her husband of 65 years, Forney Willard Sain; two sons, Ricky Sain of Vale and Randy Sain and wife, Tes of Triangle, VA; daughter, Sheena Chapman of Lewisville; three grandchildren, Robert Chapman and wife, Savannah of Wilmington, Lynsey Sain of Austin, TX and Ethan Sain of Vale and seven sisters, Nancy Sain of Cherryville, Mary Cook of Vale, Linda Sellers of Cherryville, Faye Corbett of Vale, Cathy Correll of Vale, Pat Tipton of Vale and Scarlett Beam of Vale.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm at David's Chapel Methodist Church Fellowship Building.

A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, October 17, 2023 at 3:00 pm at David's Chapel United Methodist Church with Pastor Forrestene Sain officiating.

The burial will follow the service in the David's Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.
