Scott Morgan Ruppe

Scott Morgan Ruppe, age 67 peacefully left his earthly home on July 9th 2024.

He was surrounded by his loved ones. Scott is proceeded in death by his father Clyde Morgan Ruppe, mother Doris Jean MCMurray Ruppe, wife MaryAnne Ruppe, niece Amy Marie Walker.

He is survived by his daughters, Jennifer Ruppe ( Becky), Haley Ruppe, his sister, Cindy Ruppe, 4 grandchildren: Avery Phillips, Lauren Powell ( Danny), Hunter Ruppe ( Sarah), Elliott Whisnant, 1 great granddaughter, Anslee Powell, his ex wife and friend, Penny Ramsey ( it's complicated ), his bratty dog Molly and menace grand-dog Littles.

Scott was a 37 year employee of Overnight Transportation/UPS Freight where he started in 1974. Along with a full time job he was a 32nd degree Master Mason and member of the Cliffside, NC Masonic Lodge, a volunteer firefighter for number one township fire department, and the sound man for the Silver Creek Band in the late 80's to mid 90's . He was a man of many talents. He was a wonderful cook and baker. He could make a gourmet meal or bake and decorate a wedding cake if you needed it! He had exquisite taste in music that he shared with his daughters, grandchildren and friends. He taught his daughters how to cast a fishing rod in the front yard with a toothbrush tied to the line (it worked), how to shoot a shotgun, and drive anything! He even fearlessly tried to teach Jennifer how to drive a motorcycle at the age of 15 (that did not go well). He never minded any of the wild animals Haley found and brought home.

He let his children and grandchildren be authentic at all times. He loved camping, fishing, boating, and spending time with his grandchildren, who he shared these passions with. He was always ready to cook them his famous chicken nuggets and French fries, go to the skate park, out to eat, and many other activities. He made the best Christmas stockings. The love that went into those stockings was magic! He had a great sense of style and never minded telling his children or grandchildren if an outfit didn't match or was hideous and we didn't mind because we trusted his style.

He was so much more than a dad and pawpaw he was one of a kind. His grandchildren were his world and he taught them many life lessons that will carry on his legacy. He was funny, loving, and stubborn, but most importantly he was loved very much by his family.

The family will hold a private celebration of life as Scott would not want a ruckus and would want everyone to keep their memories close to their heart and only remember him in those ways.

In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory can be made to Hospice of Carolina Foothills or Clifford's Army Animal Rescue in Shelby NC.
