Shawn Robert Gibson, age 62, of Forest City, passed away Friday, October 11, 2024 at Hospice of the Carolina Foothills.

Shawn was born Tuesday, July 3, 1962 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the late Robert Hugh Gibson and Anna Florene Shawn Gibson. He was always young at heart and enjoyed playing video games, watching movies and listening to rock music.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Myrna Stewart and brother, Mike Huckaby.

Shawn was the beloved brother of Cheryl Curtin who was his caretaker for twenty-three years. He was also survived by his brother-in-law, John Curtin of Clover, SC; his nieces, Melissa Cochran (Sean) of San Francisco, CA and Debbie Stewart of Dallas, Texas; nephews, Ray Stewart of St. Louis, Missouri, Randy Stewart of Dallas, TX, Brian Huckaby, Mark Huckaby and Kevin Huckaby all of Texas. Shawn is also survived by a host of extended family members.

There will be a celebration of Shawn's life conducted in Texas on a date to be announced.
