Sherri Elizabeth Floyd Fortenberry, 70, passed away Tuesday, May 17, 2023 at Atrium Health Charlotte. Born in Cleveland County on December 11, 1952, she was the daughter of the late Colon Gold Floyd and Janie Scruggs Floyd. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Carroll.

Sherri is survived by her daughter Jennifer Hamrick and wife Jenn, step son Scott Fortenberry and wife Kristina and step daughter Nicole Smith and husband Victor. Also left to cherish her memory is her brother Bobby Floyd wife Judy, as well as, six grandchildren, Mackenzie Hamrick, Cooper Hamrick, Austin Fortenberry Mason Fortenberry, Falon Smith, Jordan Smith and two nieces Maranda Queen and Dara Blanton.

A funeral service will be held 3:30 PM Sunday May 21, 2023 at Buffalo Baptist Church in Shelby with Pastor Dustin Mace.
