Shirley Ann Costner Lee, 86, of Lawndale, passed away on Wednesday, August 7th, at White Oak Manor, Shelby.

Shirley a native Cleveland County, was born on April 17th, 1938. Shirley was the daughter of the late Edwin and Geneva Costner. In addition to her parents, Shirley was preceded in death by her husband, Jack Edgar Lee. and one brother, Jerry Costner.

Shirley was employed with Cleveland County Public Schools as a cafeteria worker were she greeted students everyday at Burns Middle School and Burns High School. Shirley was a faithful and active member of Palm Tree Church in Lawndale. Shirley served many years as a Sunday School Teacher, and an active choir member. Shirley will also be remembered for her delicious meals she helped prepare for church activities. Shirley took pride in being the organizer of the Silver Palms as well as being the care taker of the church for many years with her husband. When Shirley wasn't serving at her church, you could always find her helping others and volunteering her time at the local U-CAN Food Pantry.

Left to cherish the memory of this loving Godly lady is her three sons, Mark E. Lee and his wife, Lisa, Robert Todd Lee and his partner, Greg, and Gary N. Lee, and his partner, LaRae; six grandchildren, Brittany Lee, Brandon Lee and his wife, Cassie, Cailla Lee Shuford, and her husband, Jordan, Robert Lee and his husband, Greg, Megan Morrison and her husband, Dylan, and Mary Lee; one great grandchild, Bryson Brooks.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, August 11th, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, at Stamey-Tysinger Funeral Home in Fallston, NC.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, August 12th at 2:00 pm at Palm Tree Church 1160 W. Stagecoach Trail Lawndale, North Carolina 28090 with the Rev. Jeff Clevenger, officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Palm Tree Church Cemetery.
