Shirley Bridges Bingham, 86, of Lewis Road, Lawndale, passed away on Monday, August 21, 2023 at Peak Resources in Cherryville.

Born in Cleveland County, on July 30, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Robert "Buck" Elbridge Bridges and Bessie Eugenia Wright Bridges. Mrs. Bingham was a homemaker and member of Friendship Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Andrew "Andy" Bridges and Jack Blair Bridges.

Survivors include her husband of 66 years, Billy Elias Bingham; son, Gregory Bingham of Vicksburg, Mississippi; daughter, Melissa Koch and husband, Grady of Yorktown, Virginia; sister, Linda Walker and husband, Robert of Lawndale; sisters-in-law, Mary Ellen Bridges and Panola Bridges; aunt, LaVerne Wright and two grandchildren, Kirsten Koch and Elias Koch.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, August 26, 2023 from 10:30 am to 11:00 am at Friendship Methodist Church.

A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 26, 2023 at 11:00 am at Friendship Methodist Church with the Rev. Karen Doucette officiating, the same church in which Shirley was baptized and married.

The burial will follow the service in Rose Hill Memorial Park.
