Sophie Gray Bumgarner, 18 months of Cherryville, passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2024.

Sophie was born in Catawba County, on December 22, 2022. She brought great joy and touched so many lives in her short time here. Sophie Gray was a beautiful, spunky little daredevil. She loved riding dirt bikes and go carts with her family. Sophie Gray loved snacks, icees, her "pappy" and her big sister. She is missed and she will be loved forever.

Sophie is survived by her parents, Matthew Bumgarner and Carly Culler; a sister, Novella Rae Bumgarner; grandparents, Jeff and Melanie Bumgarner, Kelly and Danny Cook and Bobby Culler and Bonnie Blalock; great-grandparents, Dan McLaughlin, Gary and Velda Gales, Keith and Bonnie Bumgarner and Jerry and Sheila Burgess; aunts, Carrie Grace Culler and Megan Dellinger and numerous other family members.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, July 7, 2024 from 1:30pm to 2:30pm at Covenant Church, 2168 Gastonia Hwy, Lincolnton, NC 28092.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Sunday, July 7, 2024 at 3:00pm at Covenant Church with Pastor Mike Devine and Pastor Butch Ross officiating.
