Sotirios (Sam) Tsilimos

Sotirios (Sam) Tsilimos, 77 of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away peacefully, surrounded by his family on December 5th, 2023.

Born May 1946 on the Island of Chios, Greece, he is the son of the late Giorgos Tsilimos and Kiriaki Pitsikoulis. He is survived by his son Michael Tsilimos and daughter Kiki Tsilimos; son-in-law Max Dicce and grandson Giorgos Maximus Tsilimos Dicce of Charlotte, NC. He also leaves behind his siblings Mixalis Tsilimos, Stamatis Tsilimos and Stella Deleas. He joins the Lord in heaven with his parents and son George Samuel Tsilimos. Sam came to America in the early 1970's as an immigrant and eventually became a US citizen, built his own shopping center and grew a successful restaurant business which ran and worked at for 30+ years. He was well known in the community for his hospitality and upbeat personality. Sam always had a true passion for real estate in Charlotte which later became his focus and career. Beyond his professional accomplishments, Sam was an avid sportsman and found joy working in his shop on gunsmithing and training his dogs for the annual hunting trip to South Dakota. Sam loved America and was grateful for the opportunity to live the true American Dream but never forgot his country of Greece and his island home. Sam was dependable, determined, hardworking and a dedicated father and will be remembered that way among his family and friends.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Monday, December 11, 2023 at 12:00 PM at Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Cathedral, Charlotte, NC with Father Jonathan Resmini - Dean officiating

VISITATION: Monday, December 11, 2023 from 11:00 AM to 11:50 AM prior to the service in the Cathedral

INTERMENT: Evergreen Cemetery, Central Avenue, Charlotte, NC
